The t shirt is possibly the most common item of clothing that one can see when walking down the street. In the summer, every other person will be wearing a t shirt and in the winter, you can bet there's one under all those jackets and jumpers.
T shirts are very simple items of clothing, covering most of a person's upper body with no collar, buttons or pockets. They are defined by their short sleeves which when spread out make the shirt resemble a t' shape. Their simple design leaves lots of room for decorations such as text or images, so that they are useful for advertising and merchandising.
Another way in which t shirts are popular is because they are comfortable, versatile and can be worn by both genders for various different occasions. They are also relatively thin, making them suitable for wearing in warm climates.
T shirts are often worn by people to advertise their liking of a particular band or musician. People can buy (usually) black t shirts at gigs or shops that have the band's logo and image on the front.
